i had read a lot of bad review on 35G and now sony make 35 1.8 but it is for DT, fail me again.... sob sob
24mm make f2... fail me....
85mm make la f1.8..duh... speechless

iGeorge, have you tried the 35G? It is a wonderful lens. I don't see the softness people complain about. I just see beautiful bokeh.

Personally I don't like 35mm on FF, it's a boring focal length for me.

I had tried the 35G. And I agree with albnok about the gorgeous bokeh it renders. It is not soft, but it simply does not have the sharpness that people tend to expect from a lens at this price. I guess it was never designed for ultimate sharpness, but more for pleasing bokeh and color....

haha... boring focal length? why is it so?
anyhow, Albert, I would like to know if it is worth to trade my 1635 with the 24 gem? 1 stop of light really make a different unless A900 successor can go ISO as hi as 12800.

iGeorge: 35mm on FF is the same angle of view you get out of a mobile phone or a point-and-shoot without wide-angle capability (28mm or 24mm).

Do you need 16mm and 35mm? Think about it. Only you can answer this.

after so long using 1635, most of my shot at 20, 24 and 35

wooo... rumors said Sony will come out 28mm f1.4 Zeiss and 200mm f2 G lenses nx yr
